Amir Amor

Artist, Songwriter, Music Producer

London-based electronic outfit Rudimental originally came together in 2009 as the production name of Piers AggetKesi Dryden and DJ Locksmith. Together they released several singles including “Speeding” and “Deep In The Valley” through Black Butter records.

Then in 2011 Black Butter introduced the group to Amir Amor and Nick Worthington who were co-founders of Major Toms, an independent studio and production house in East London.

Experienced producer and songwriter Amor help craft the new Rudimental sound, bringing in new live elements and influences to the group. Songs from the initial sessions with Amor were “Feel The Love” feat. John Newman, “Spoons” which alongside an improvised cutlery percussion from Amor, featured MNEK and Syron, and“Waiting All Night” which features Ella Eyre.

Championed by Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1, “Feel The Love” became the groups first No 1 hit, topping the U.K. charts and becoming an international hit, gaining top 5 positions in over 10 countries and top ten in several more.

The same weekend, the newly formed four-piece played their first live gig on home turf at the Radio 1 2012 Hackney Weekender.

Armed with a new sound and new presence, the show was an instant success becoming the most talked about performance of the festival, surpassing that of Jay Z and Rhianna who also performed that night. This was to be the beginning of a highly successful live career.
